Pete Carroll continued his State of the Seahawks and shed some light on the defensive back situation. While Sherman is absent, it appears that Shaquill Griffin will be back, and opposite him will be Byron Maxwell. He also informed the media that cornerback DeShawn Shed is close to practicing as well.

Shead has been on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list for some time. The Seahawks were first hoping that he would return around week 7 or 8 when the Seahawks faced the Giants and the Texans. However, the Seahawks are taking precautions as necessary to not rush him onto the field. Carroll stated that he hopes to have him back at practice soon.

Deshawn Shead will become an unrestricted free agent in 2018.
